Application of rock & Mineral Technology
in Disaster  Prevention and Early Warning

Mineralogy and microscopic structure techniques are utilized to investigate potential sliding surfaces of slopes and their geostress conditions. Raman analysis is employed for quartz and carbonaceous materials to calculate their residual stress values and historical temperature. Furthermore, mineral textures and their microstructures are examined utilizing optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In addition, the stress state is reconstructed by computed tomography (CT) to decipher the mechanisms underlying slope instability, which leads to landslides or large-scale collapses.
